Help Desk Solutions

24x7x365 Support Available - Install, modify, maintain, and make repairs to computer hardware systems and software applications. Provide desktop support to staff. Troubleshoot, repair, replace, configure, order, and maintain stock of security equipment and communicate with vendors. Install and maintain network, operating systems, and PC application software. Exercise expert Microsoft Office and Mobile Device troubleshooting skills and knowledge to resolve end user issues. Perform Virus/Malware removal. Troubleshoot, maintain, and communicate with vendors for repairs on all office equipment and Software. Provide training to system users on operations systems, hardware, software, and use of equipment. Answer client inquiries in person and via telephone concerning systems operations, software, and operator problems. Record all requests for assistance and all reported tasks using IT Helpdesk Application (Spiceworks or similar program); list request and/or problem/task, priority level, due date, brief description of issue, how resolved and date closed. Provide information processing, systems counseling, and guidance to personnel.

Server, Network & Firewall Administration

Provide system administration for various resources, including:

 

Police & Fire records management software (TriTech Perform and similar applications); TLO and similar applications; Firewall Policy Manager Adds/Edits (Watchguard and similar applications). Utilize conceptual and practical knowledge of firewalls to ensure secure network perimeter and stable connectivity. Spam Appliance (Barracuda and similar applications), Antivirus Administration, Windows Server Remote Desktop Services, Windows Server Active Directory, perform account management in Active Directory, Exchange, and other platforms, including creation, removal, changes, password resets and bulk operations. Windows Print Server, Attendance System Applications, Exchange User Configuration, Microsoft Outlook365 and similar applications, DVR recording software, attend meetings and training programs in conjunction with tasks assigned on related hardware and software. Maintain and troubleshoot various Public Safety RMS systems, networking tasks, and security systems as needed, as well as design comprehensive hardware and software solutions. Maintain consistent backup sets, resolve issues as they arise. Develop, implement, and enforce network security standards. Provide server maintenance, management, and repair. Install and maintain network servers and firewalls for LAN/WAN connectivity. Monitor the network capacity and utilization to ensure availability. 
 

TELCOM, Mobile & Remote

Troubleshoot and maintain all TELCOM equipment. Troubleshoot and program various Public Safety radio equipment. Upgrade, maintain and repair all data processing, communications, or office systems equipment. Maintain wireless modems (i.e. CradlePoint) and connectivity (i.e. NetMotion) for mobile units. Troubleshoot and program various Public Safety radio equipment, accessories, radio PC's and communicate with additional vendors as needed on all repairs. Responsible for maintaining adequate stock of communication equipment and accessories and make recommendations for upgrades/purchases/replacements. Provide mobile phone and tablet maintenance and support. 

Purchasing & Implementation

Recommend the purchase, rent, lease or other acquisition from outside sources of computer systems, communications systems, office systems, hardware, software, or services to meet the needs of the company in accordance with established policies. Maintain knowledge of developments in systems & hardware, recommend new developments into future systems. Maintain purchasing of standard inventory. Manage hardware and software vendor negotiations and maintenance of contracts. Ensure new or modified systems are adequately tested before being moved to production. Recommend changes in data processing, communications, or office system equipment to ensure expenses are minimized while ensuring reliable and timely services. Negotiate and oversee vendors and contracts, researching vendors and contracts to ensure compliance with State MPA and Federal GSA (if applicable), as well as purchase and implement necessary equipment. Maintain the technology budget. Communicate with vendors on technical specifications, purchases, and problem-solving; troubleshoot, repair, replace and communicate with vendor on all TELCOM equipment; research, retrieve and transfer audio/video to proper media from department audio and video equipment as requested by proper authorities. Research, specify and obtain quotes for upgrades to PC hardware and software as requested.

Inventory Management

Provide all listings of contracts and fixed asset inventory, equipment, etc. Perform regularly scheduled physical confirmation of equipment inventory; verify accuracy of report information (i.e., location, tag number, etc.) and document findings. Inspect, identify, and assign tags to all equipment. Coordinate tagging of equipment to ensure that correct procedures are followed. Recommend adjustments in inventory accounting; recommend action on inventory adjustment requests made by departments. Submit monthly activity report. Report grants purchases on a separate file by grant (if applicable). Maintain inventory on all contracts and fixed assets purchased or otherwise acquired (i.e., equipment, service contracts, etc.) and provide listings upon request.
